Digital Agriculture Services (DAS) is a rural technology company based in Melbourne. The company, founded in 2017 in partnership with CSIRO, Australia’s national scientific agency, is delivering rural analytics based on its industry-first Rural intelligence Platform, which is built on breakthroughs in machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). The platform, which is currently offered on a software-as-a-service (SaaS) basis, combines machine learning and cloud-based geospatial technology to deliver reliable, independent and robust farm data and analytics. Independent data from trusted CSIRO and government sources is integrated with purpose-built, proprietary analytics on different land attributes, ranging from water access, productivity, yield, land use, crop type, rainfall and more into one, easy-to-use database.

The platform uses satellite imagery to track paddocks and their performance over time. Information from Australia’s digital soil map is incorporated and climate information interpreted to show drought, frost, heat stress for livestock and other risks. Australian farmers get access to the platform at no cost and can review information on every farm in Australia. Including property data, title information, recent sales, land productivity, carrying capacity, soil type, land use, climate and risk data. The farmer will also be able to download a rural property report and request a desktop property appraisal or valuation.
