The GBL Bluetooth (GBL-B) is a data recorder used for soil moisture monitoring. It reads the attached sensor and stores the data internally. That data is collected by the customer using the GBRetrieve app to transfer data over Bluetooth from the GBL to the phone and from there automatically to Green Brain.
The benefit of the GBL-B is its low capital cost and that, rather than being fitted with its own SIM, its internet connectivity is piggy backed onto the customer's phone. This makes it functional where internet access is marginal or where capital and recurrent costs are critical.
Pricing model | The GBL-B costs only A$490 with an annual subscription of A$60. The cost of the sensor attached to the GBL depends on the type of sensor. |

Installation process | The GBL-B records sensor output. The only installation difficulty is that relating to the sensor. The GBL-B simply rests above it. |
Ongoing maintenance required and support provided in Australia | The GBL-B is battery powered and batteries are user changeable. There are no other maintenance issues. |
