Our device Alfie is trained on 4 million images from various locations to identify Australian animals with high accuracy. The device has built-in power, connectivity, and software that can recognise animals and their stress signals. The device does not rely on cloud connectivity to recognise events and can process them locally. It uses narrow bandwidth connectivity which is available throughout remote areas of Australia. Alfie needs to be placed in locations where it can sight lambing ewes. The device has the capability to build models specific to your farms and will provide alerts with high accuracy. It is an innovative solution and currently under trial in Victorian farms for this use case.
Hardware is priced per unit, with economies of scale. There are no costs for data transactions for example data uploads from sensors are free and downloads of data are free. There is an annual subscription fee that will kick in after one year of device operation.
The solution is installed by the vendor. It is easy to install and farmers can place them in different locations as required.
We have technical staff on the ground in every Australian state and territory and provide 'boots on the ground' support to growers or hardware set up and maintenance.
CAT M1 (works beyond traditional 4G)
Customer owns all data and has complete autonomy to choose if/when/how to provide access to data to third parties. We do request access to use the data for enhancing and finetuning the image analysis algorithms.
The solution set up involved working with the farmers and capturing typical stress signals on the farm. The model will be finetuned for participating farms. We expect this solution to save lambs, ewes and reduce losses for farmers.
