Bluebell Smart GPS Ear Tag

Our livestock management platform provides real-time information on the health status, behaviours, and accurate GPS location of all the animals in the herd utilising sensor data while the animals are still out in the paddock.

To gather the data, Smart Paddock has created the Bluebell smart tag. Our smart ear tag attaches securely onto each animal and constantly monitors the temperature, activity state, and GPS location. The producer can then easily and securely access this data from a web dashboard or mobile phone application. Our smart ear tags will detect crucial livestock issues like stray, stolen or downed animals and send a text message to the producer so they can take the necessary actions to rectify any issues.

Pricing model

The Smart Paddock system consists of 2 major components, the smart ear tags and the LoRaWAN network gateway(s). These hardware components are purchased outright by the farmer. There are ongoing service and support fees for the farmer to access the online web dashboard based on a per tag pricing model. There is an additional monthly data charge per network gateway based on the type of internet connection used (i.e. 4G/Satellite).

Installation process

The initial system installation can be self-installed by the farmer with remote assistance from Smart Paddock. Alternatively, third party vendors can be employed to install the network gateway, power supply and antenna components of the system if needed.

Ongoing maintenance required and support provided in Australia

The Smart Paddock system has very low maintenance requirements with the maintaining of a solar power supply for the network gateway as the most significant maintenance requirement if mains power is not available. All other maintenance and service can be supported remotely by Smart Paddock staff via email and phone.
