The Bluebell tag/collar attaches securely onto each animal and monitors the temperature, mobility, and geo-location, which the producer can easily access from a web dashboard or mobile phone application. These devices are inexpensive, reusable and can transmit data over long distances in remote areas.
The Smart Paddock system consists of 2 major components, the smart ear tags and the LoRaWAN network gateway(s). These hardware components are purchased outright by the farmer. There are ongoing service and support fees for the farmer to access the online web dashboard based on a per tag pricing model. There is an additional monthly data charge per network gateway based on the type of internet connection used (i.e. 4G/Satellite).
The initial system installation can be self-installed by the farmer with remote assistance from Smart Paddock. Alternatively, third party vendors can be employed to install the network gateway, power supply and antenna components of the system if needed.
The Smart Paddock system has very low maintenance requirements with the maintaining of a solar power supply for the network gateway as the most significant maintenance requirement if mains power is not available. All other maintenance and service can be supported remotely by Smart Paddock staff via email and phone.
