Case Study

Carwoola Station (MLA)The historic Carwoola Station near Canberra Australia relies heavily on the river that runs directly through its heart. Water is pumped from the river to holding tanks and ponds, for irrigation and stock. The river provides for the station but it is also one of the biggest hazards when in flood. A significant productive area of the station is within the river flats that are subject to flooding from time to time. Waterwatch LS1  sensors were mounted at three points along the river providing river level visibility to station staff while on or off the property. With built in level threshold triggers and rapid level early warning capability the staff are  always aware of when and where it is safe to cross the river.
