Apart from weather, which is beyond their control, the 25,000 Australian grain farmers only have two levers to pull to increase crop yield across their 19 million hectares of fields after the crop has been sown: crop protection and nitrogen fertiliser.

Laconik’s technology deals with the second lever. The technology quickly calculates nitrogen rates for many small areas across the thousands of hectares of a broadacre farm.

The technology is a scientific breakthrough as farmers can literally ‘play’ with their crops nitrogen levels to win greater yields, using technology pioneered by the team at Laconik. Laconik’s technology uses data science and machine learning to gain precision around fertilising crops.
